Finding Pearls on Substack While on Vacation

A break from the noise led me to unexpected treasures.

Spanish version
Yes, I’m on vacation, gliding away from the clamor of the world, when I stumbled into Substack. There’s something different here—a quieter flair that draws me in and settles my soul.

I found

, , , , and other voices that spark delight. Their words feel like a gift.

I just turned 70. For decades, I’ve poured myself into applied neuroscience and human development. I’ve worked in Intensive Care Units, joined neurosurgery teams, and learned this truth: beyond procedures and protocols, we crave connection, inspiration, and a deeply personal spiritual life. Years ago, I nearly lost my two eldest sons in an accident that left them severely burned. They survived—thrived, even—building meaningful lives and beautiful families. That experience reshaped me.

From my practice, I crafted protocols blending neuroscience and coaching to support my patients. The results were striking: outcomes improved, lives shifted. My wife and I took that spark and founded the Neuroscience & Coaching Institute to share what we’d learned. Now, we travel, run in-company trainings to cut workplace accidents, and savor the journey.

Here on Substack, I come to refill my cup—to find kindred spirits playing, working, and sharing their truths. As Richard Bach once wrote, “His way of giving love was showing others the truth he had found.” That’s what I see here, and it’s why I stay.
